IN All right; "Stop picking on us Islanders, aight?" S92

Said to be used by Long Island natives at Geneseo; said to be obs. F94

IN-this term has been revived. 48% of the students surveyed identified this as all right, or OK.

This entry originally created by M. Gigante and D. McGiveron, 2006.

Comments:

This term has spread to the internet and is now used in game-chats and on instant messenger, and mostly by northerners (especially New Yorkers).

100% of surveyed students were familiar with and could define the term in its current sense. Not thought to be Geneseo-specific. 2012

100% of the people that were surveyed by my group knew what this word means, thus it is still relevant (Nicchi, A-F, 2019).

100% of students asked knew the meaning of this word, but the accent used to say the word varied from Long Island to Boston, indicating that the word is relevant but the origin is debated. (Hastings, A-F, 2023)
