Based on survey results, only 20% of participants stated that the word was familiar and 80% of participants had no idea what the word meant; indicating that the word is not obsolete, but it is not used very much anymore (M Gillanders, A-F, 2019).

4.8% of responses indicated total familiarity with the word. 14.3% had heard the word before but could not define it, and 81% had never heard the word (Anderson A-F 2020)
