Acronym for the video game term “non playable character.” Often used to describe a person who is boring or brainless; “Zack is such an NPC, always just sitting around and staring at nothing.” Of those surveyed, 81.2% ranked “NPC” as a 3 on a 3 point scale of familiarity, 1 being low and 3 being high.
