VB: To put up money; "Everybody pitch in a few dollars. We’re goin to buck up for the keg." S95 VB-54% of surveyed studetns identified this term as the act of "Putting up money". S99 VB: To cheer up. 79% of students identified this new usage.

Fall 2008-None of those surveyed could identify the first use.  This use is obsolete.  100% of those surveyed identified word in its second meaning.

J. Bloom, A-F, 2019: 60% of students surveyed were able to identify the word in the first use. This trend shows that the word has become more relevant since the last entry. The second use shows 70% of students surveyed are able to identify this use. This use has become more obsolete.
