In 2012, "Pledge Mom" was used in place of "Pledge Mistress." "Pledge Mom" received an average of 3.55 out of 5 on student surveys, 1 being an unknown word, and 5 being a word commonly used and heard. (Miller, N-R, 2012)

Pledge Master still used, but Pledge Mistress rarely heard around campus. Students report using Pledge Master for females as well as males (Frink, N-R, 2015).

Pledge Master and Pledge Mistress have scored an average of 2.07 on a five point scale, 1 being ever used or heard and 5 being always used or heard, qualifying it as obsolete as of 2019. (McGowan, N-R, 2019)
