(New word) Chick flick (NN): a movie, usually a romantic comedy or drama, that is enjoyed by females. Usually has a lot of emotions and love with little action and tends to have a happy and love-filled ending. Defintion of approximately 96% of those surveyed. (F06) Chick flick (NN): a gender norm for "females" about how to release a cigarette. Definition of approximately 4% of those surveyed.

Based on survey results, 100% of participants defined the word as a movie typically enjoyed by ladies.  0% defined it as being "a gender norm for ‘females’ about how to release a cigarette."  This particular definition is now obsolete (J Costello, A-F, 2019).
