Its provenance is uncertain: most students have asserted that it is a contraction of "crazy-drunk".  "Oh man, I got absolutely krunk this weekend."Not specific to Geneseo.As of 2012, 90% of students surveyed knew this word and 3% believed it to be of local origin.(Eichas, G-M, 2012) As of 2019, 64% of students surveyed knew this word and 5% believed it to have originated in Geneseo.
