'’Noun ‘’ Edge of ripped out spiral notebook paper; "Don’t hand in your paper with ‘‘froo-froos’’ on it." The word was called "obsolete" in Fall of ‘98. Results: 5% of those surveyed knew this word, and 50% of the people that knew the word, learned the word at Geneseo. Conclusion: This word is local to Geneseo, and its use is very limited but it is not obsolete.

Out of those in our survey who could define this word, 6% believe that the definition matches the 2008 definition above, 18% believe that the definition is "nonsense, silly or unimportant," and 38% believe that the definition is "fancy or posh." This indicates that the 2008 definition is falling out of use and that the definition, "fancy or posh," has become more popular (Smith, A-F, 2022).
